and I hear you loud and clear. I was using dropbox and then iCloud to sync my 1Password vault.

I took a step back and for my use case, wether its iCloud or Dropbox or 1Password sync, it really doesnt matter. Because, none of these sync services are controlled by me. They all proprietary in their own way and some are more open through APIs and others are not.

1Password is considering a self hosting solution but I dont know if that appeals to me because I really am not that tech savy.

My main reason for using 1Password sync is family sharing and right now, I have not found any other easier way to do that.
